i.Address + Offer or Offer + Address = Refusal + Address/+Thanks + Preference/Reason or Thanks + Address/+Reason/Preference

In this head act structure, the offer utterance is made up of two moves, an address form (e.g. sir, daddy, grand pa, etc.) and the offer move, while the refusal utterance could be made up of two or more moves including refusal, address form, thanks, interjection, reason and preference. There is no limit to the number and type of potential moves used in the refusal utterance. In the following examples, different address patterns are used in both the offer utterance and the refusal utterance, e.g. kinship terms: “daddy”, “son” and “grandson” (100–101) and the honorific “sir” (101).
